Young Adults with learning difficulties/disabilities.

The Project takes a proactive person-centered approach encouraging independent living and social skills development. This can include supporting independent travel by collecting from the local train station or bus stop. The project works with students and parents/carers to assist through the process of transition and independence whilst offering real work experience and supporting vocational qualifications where appropriate.
We offer the following programmes for this group.
• Behaviour stabilisation where challenging behaviour exists
• Encouraging interests in learning rural skills, care for livestock, growing vegetables
• Qualification pathways and programmes where appropriate.
• Programmes focusing on transition and independence support
Young people and adults with mental health difficulties
Being part of this project can enhance well-being, allow for meaningful engagement and learn new skills. The opportunity to undertake vocational qualifications will be supported pointing service users on to further education and employment.
We offer the following programmes for this group:

Upper Lodge Farming Project offers people who come here the opportunity to do rewarding outdoor work in a supportive, therapeutic environment. They will learn new skills and will be helped to become prepared for being at work in a safe environment. Small groups ensure close supervision and the chance to build positive relationships. The ratio of staff to student is not more than 1:3. Hours are generally between 9.30am to 3.30pm. Sessions are usually for a minimum of 4 hours per day.

Young people who are excluded or not accessing mainstream education
The project aims to support and re-engage our young people in structured valuable work where
tangible achievements can be experienced.
Vocational qualifications can offer pathways back into education and future work and these will be explored and encouraged to meet each individual’s needs.

- Return to school programmes/short term programmes
- Preparation for employment
- Supporting placements of Children who are Looked After
- Continuing education for those for whom school is unsuitable
